Stefano has emailed me photos of his latest scratch built figure, Sir John Douglas, from the Crimean war 1856. Stefano stated that the figure also has a pelice which he will show us later. The figure was sculpted from a photo, taken from that period. It was sculpted all from epoxyputty.

54mm

Beutiful work Stefano..........I look forward to seeing more of this figure.

Stefano....that's a great figure, with a character straight from the period. Is he 54mm..?
Lovely work...also looking forward to seeing the pelisse when it's complete.

All the best.

Roy.

Sorry Roy.....Stefano did email me with additional information about the figure and told me it is a 54mm figure. I forgot to add that when I edited the posting.

Great sculpt. I love the 11th's uniform in the Crimea. What we need is a great figure of Cardigan to go with this. The only one that's ever come close iIMHO was Sid Horton's Chota Sahib in ~54mm. He needs updating.

Mike French sculpted a 100mm(?) figure for Tiny Troopers taken from the same photograph a long while back, Bill Horan's beautifully-painted version of it appeared on the cover of Military Modelling around that time.

Beautiful work Stefano. And in 54mm too. That sabretache must have been a trial to sculpt and paint. Any chance of some close-ups or more views?

They would be very much appreciated!

Colin

Beautiful, just beautiful. Pity this really great figure is not available commercially. You never know though, I hope Stefano will make similar figures for us :)

Hey Stefano....you paint your figure beautifully...well done my friend.
He looks very much like a proud old charcter from this period..

He's just superb.

Kind regards.

Roy.
