As you know ( or don't) I'm living in Brussels
Small court yard we have, no space, no garden..

only one rosebush

Mirofsoft. cut the rose bush down and I am sure you would have enough space for Belgium's first National Park!

Wow, with a rose bush like that you don't need anymore! What do you feed it?

Joe

Absolutely nothing. Every year end of fall I just trim it a bit
When I bought the house some 30years ago, it was already existing, with a big trunk and very big thorns, I had small children and it was dangerous for them, so I simply cut it down ( completely ) and, without any experience at all, I simply took 1 branch and sticked it in the ground in another place . The resutl you can see...

Very nice! It's nice to see a rose that has been allowed to grow and has survived so many years. It does look like a nice spot to sit and enjoy a beer on a summer afternoon.

I have a much smaller one as the gate guard to my back yard. I want to build a trellised gate and train the bush up over it.

Prost!

That's a beautiful rose....and to see such a rose in the middle of your Summer so clear of blackspot disease is something we can only dream of down here in the southern hemisphere where the humidity means our roses have spotted leaves all over.....very jealous, it's a lovely bush.

But how many paint stands can you fit into that space Mirofsoft?
Or am I highjacking your thread?
Its a lovely small garden by the way.
