Hi Guys
Have been experimenting a bit over the Holidays with acrylics and at last meeting with some success, which is a miracle in its self considering Im a total oil man. So a couple of questions
1 what is the difference between the solid colours and things such as model colour smoke which at first glance to me looks like a saturated pigment which apparently you thin down to a wash then apply.
2 although the paints are drying quite matt they are not what I saw at Euro.

I have used "smoke" with varying degrees of success, usually to define metallics.
If you want completely flat Tamiya X21 Flat base is your thing, not too much though as it'll dry chalky.

Hi Ron

Smoke is made with a very deep metallic effect, chain mail and the like.
However, this requires multiple runs and a good dry time for each.

Cheers
