Soldatini International is an Electronic magazine that can be read from your PC, Ipad, Tablet, or other like device. It is an offshoot of Soldatini written in Italian.

Ever since I got my first Italian issue I have been thrilled with the quality and scope of the pictures. With the advent of the International version and the ability to read about what I was seeing I have been hooked. Issue 3 has just been released and so I will give a review of the magazine over the past 2 issues.
Soldatini, Soldatini International have set out to be the magazine for people who do miniatures. The span the gamete of genres from sci-fi to modern. They do acrylics painting, oils, and sculpting.

The imagery is vivid and of a size easy to see. In each issue are photographs from various competitions which provide some really inspiring ideas on what to paint next or add to the grey army..

There are step by steps and lessons that are very informative.

The latest issue has an incredible tutorial on colour theory which is very easy to read and understandable. I was amazed to see a figure of Napoleon painted with only 5 colours on the palette.
The subject matter is diverse and I think quite interesting. From colour plates of various units to figures from all the genres.

The magazine is a reasonable $6.99 per issue or 6 for $29.99 at Pocket mags.
Try is, I think you will find yourself hooked as I did. Informative, colourful, interesting, either version Italian or International will have something of interest to everyone.

I have to agree, it is a great way of getting the magazine at a very reasonable price. It is wonderful that it is now in English! Anyway it is a great magazine.

Just bought the 104 international for the tablet and it is stunning as the two before.
Hopefully they gonna go on with this excellent format for the one's that are not capable to read the Italian language.

My only critique on issue 104 is that all the captions on the show pictures just list they artist, no subject as we saw link earlier issues. Seems incomplete to me as I have never heard of most of these gentlemen but would like to know what the subjects are. The Euromilitaire page shown above from issue 103 is the right way to do it. Please add the subject description as well in future as the pix are great.

Hi Colin, you are right about the captions, and I wasn't happy.

Unfortunately we relay on the show organiser for the details and they gave us only the names.

We asked for all the other info without luck.

The options was not to publish the pictures, but I think would have been even worst.

I hope show organisers will help us in the future.

Thank you and a big thanks to James for this review!

Hi Keith,

You want to subscribe from 102, forward??

We don't own the platform is owned by Pocketmags, I can ask them if is possible.

PM me please.

Thanks

Giovanni

If you subscribe to any magazine on Pocket Mags the subscription will act as a credit also. So if you subscribe now at 104 , six issues would take you to 109. Or you can read 102 on and then your subscription would end at 107. I have done this on other magazines to read back issues. Alternately you can miss an issue and pick up the next one. Hope that helps.

Hi Keith,

Not sure what's happening, but when the site asks you to put username and password, is the username and password you used to register to pocketmags.

Anyway, please send me a pm with your request and I'll forward everything to the platform owners.

Thanks

GIovanni

Hi Giovanni,

The site asked for my E.Mail address and password.......I haven't actually logged in with them yet so what password do they want? all I had completed was a subscription in the basket........Keith

Hi Keith,

Let me explain.

First thing you need to register with Pocketmags, choosing your email address and a password of your choice, not the password of your email, more or less what you did when you registered for planetfigure, they asked you to choose a nickname and a password of your choice, here they want your email as the nickname but you still can choose your password related to the pocketmags account only.

Once you have registered with them you can buy a subscription, and make the payment.

But please let me check first if you can buy a credit subscription first or the subscription will simply be from the current number onwards.

Is this clear? Can you bear with me until tomorrow, once I ask the guys at pocketmags?

Thanks

Giovanni

Hi Keith,

I've just spoken to Pockemags, if you buy the subscription via their website www.pocketmags.com (NOT IN APP!) and you send me an email, they will be able to make the subscription start from issue 102.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Giovanni
