Hi Guys
A few differing options on using this stuff, got to get this one right on the first take or the base is kaput.
what stops the stuff from sticking to the formwork to contain it.

Ron, also now known as captain Bertirelli

I was going to ask the same thing Ron?
I use plastic cut from an ice cream tub, I think they're polyurethane, and nothing really sticks to that.
You could use your lubricant of choice,;)

Hi Carl
that sounds about right ,thought about using a curry carry out container they are made of the stuff I think:confused:

I used evergreen scrap plastic sheet and rubbed a bit of vaseline over it and wiped off the excess. Worked well as nothing stuck to it and it didn't affect the clarity of the resin where it met. Do watch out for the issues that I did/am having at the moment in regards to trapped moisture in the base(see thread in this section of the forum).
Good luck and would love to hear about the results

Well ben I didn't have to worry about the trapped moisture issue as the whole bloody thing leaked, all i could do was watch as
the tide slowly went out :( so maybe what's left will seal the gaps for a second attempt
Ron

will keep u posted

OH NO!!!! that doesnt sound good. I used usual masking tape wrapped around twice quite tightly. It leaked in a few places but not too bad. Use a small bit first to clog up the gaps and then add the majority once that has dried.
