When I paint figures specifically the flesh parts, usually semi naked women, I then paint the belts, hair etc. I almost always get paint on the finished flesh part I try cleaning it very quickly but it usually leaves a slight dark residue. I find I get discouraged after having painted, shaded and highlighted the flesh parts. Trying to touch up the figure becomes a chore and difficult especially when using dark colors the invariably get on the flesh. I use oils for flesh. Any advice in what order or technique I should paint the figure to avoid this?

Talino,
I was just painting close to the flesh on an Indian and what I do after the flesh has dried is to give it a good coat of clear flat. When I get paint on the flesh afterwards, I just swipe it off with clean thinner / water and it leaves no residue.

hope this helps

I work with acrylics and then I make the area realy wet (not as a river but just wet) with another brush before I paint the critical parts or lines. If I hav e a mis I can remove the mis quit easy. It slows youre work a little but helps to degrease the risk.

Maybe you can use this :)
