One of my wife's favorite actors is Vincent Price, so I thought I would do a little experiment in capturing a likeness. The time period is more towards the middle of his career (which spanned 60 years) so he's not quite as "creepy" looking as his better known later career. I did a lot of overlays in photoshop to double check on dimensions and it really helped to get the facial features correct. I still have to finish up his jacket and build a base so my wife can display him on her desk at work, but I thought I'd post a picture anyway.

Super Sculpey Firm Gordy...I just love that stuff. The larger scale was a lot of fun as I was able to be a little more hands on and use my fingers to push the clay around...different than using tools all the time.

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it very much!

Cool :) I do like the qualities of SSF and their (recently discontinued :( ) Studio line

You're welcome, it's a fantastic piece and superb likeness!

Wow...impressive. Really captured Vincent and as good as it gets, Bravo...great job here.

Vincent Price in 1/4 scale, ready for the wife's desk

here's a couple of pictures of the finished Vincent Price bust including one of him sitting in the dome which will go on my wife's desk. We find people are a lot less likely to pick up the pieces when they are safely under a dome...it's a lesson learned from experience...I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about. The dome is a touch too big, but it is one we had on hand so it'll do for now anyway. Thanks for taking a look!
