Hello friends
Im been played with Magic Sculpt again and made a my second try to sculpt a figure (if this product of mine can be call figure).
Been fan of GoT since I buy first book back in 1997. (way back) and with HBO serie running I wanted to make a figure from a character rich world of Ice and Fire and I choose a Sons of Harpy .
I hope you will like it and critics are most welcome.
All the best

I'm not a fan of Game of Thrones or fantasy stuff generally, so I had no idea what the character and/or costume should look like. So I found an image online - hopefully it's the same character. Yes?

Very good action pose! I particularly like that! (y)
The folds and drapery are great! [You're doing better with those than I do!] (y)
Most of the mask and all of the costume look accurate compared to the photo.(y)

I don't want to be accused of being overly picky, but...
  • The horns of your figure look slightly less curvy & bent at a slightly different angles than those in the attached image. I think you could fix that by a combination of carving and re-sculpting them. If you didn't do it before, you may want to bury some thin strong wire in the horns to keep them in the desired shape before re-sculpting.
  • The arms and torso of your figure look like there is a bit of a gap between them. Difficult to tell from the photos. Assuming there is a gap and it isn't the photos and if you intend to offer this figure commercially, I'd re-work that fit.
Hope this is helpful!

All the best,
Dan

Thanks Dan on your kind words.
I will try to fix horns and gaps between hands and torso.
You gave me a great compliment by assuming that I may offer figure commercially. Its really mean a lot to me.
My next work will be a historical one from WWI and a very rare figure .
Thank you again Dan and all the best.

Good progress. Generally I agree with Dan wit only one comment to add: the hands are too wide on the point where they touch the torso, from the pics it looks like hands have same thickness as the legs below hips.
So, if You want to improve this one, try to thin the hands a bit and redo the joint so there is no visible gap.

Regards !

Hi Dejan,

Good to see you are still sculpting, nice subject to choose as it is a good lesson for drapery with all the loose clothing that the Sons of Harpy wear, you have captured the character well with the mask and clothing.
Some points have already been made for improvement and I am sure with every sculpt you will improve but the main thing is to enjoy it.
Would be good to see one of the unsullied fighting against him (y)

All the best
Steve

Thanks Pokrad.
I think I will redo his arms and horns .
Tank you again because I value your opinion very much.

Dear Dejan,

your figure is really good - especially considering that this is only your second attempt!

It's well proportioned, the pose is very cool and I love the way you rendered the folds of the clothing and the drapery. Dan & Pokrad are right about the gap between arm & torso and the width of the upper arm at the point where it connects to the torso respectively but these you can easily correct.

My only (very slight) criticism is that the positioning of the right arm looks a bit awkward to me, especially in the last photo. The arm seems placed a little high and the elbow not bent enough. That said, perhaps it's just the angle of the photos that makes it look that way.

Other than that, it looks great (y)! Keep sculpting & having fun with it & share your work with us.

All the best,
Elia :)

A second try and it looks like that?Impressive.Maybe sculpting is an inherent Slavic ability. That would explain a lot wouldn't it.Since I am an amateur myself I do not have any specific remarks and respectfully pay attention to what the seasoned sculptors of the forum have said.I just want to add that you have chosen a quite challenging subject for your second try and you did great. As for the next one,WWI and rare....hmm..could it be Serbian army?Great history, great uniforms and saddly missing from our field so far.
