Hi mates!

it's been a long time since i have posted something..
This is my latest work. It's a "Sottotenente degli Ussari di Piacenza" (lieutenant
of the hussars of Piacenza, year 1861).

The piece was painted in January and February of this year, and unfortunately I was not able to paint another until today, but I hope that in the coming months be able to paint something new.

All in acrylics.

i hope you like it!
and feel free to tell me about criticism and suggestions or make me questions

Very nice. Simple yet effective figure.
Excellent work on the green... a difficult colour and this particular shade looks to be very challenging.

Well done

Colin

Not normally my kind of thing but this is a superb piece of painting. The greens are beautifully rendered and the braiding is spot-on. I really like this.

Hi Luca
I like your painting of this figure, this is an interesting subject to me, is the figure commercially available or a private commission?
Cheers

Thank you Roy, much appreciated!
It was a commemorative piece for a show in Trieste (Italy) some years ago...
was later marketed by Romeo Models if I'm not mistaken, but I think with a small circulation.
I checked their website but I have not found his..maybe you can try to contact them ...

Hi Luca.
That's a fine piece of work. What did you use on the braiding nmm?
Peter.

sorry, my english is very poor...for braiding do you mean the friezes on the arms and the stripes on the trousers?i think so...
Yes there aren't metallic color, only normal colors. Only one things, at the end of the proceeding i have given several coats of satin varnish (vallejo, very dilute) until I got a degree of brilliance that I considered suitable.

Many thanks Luca, I will check with Romeo Models, you really have done a great painting job on this figure.
Cheers

Hi Luca
Thanks for your reply. Yes the frieze, I wondered what colours and who's paint you had used?
Many thanks.
Peter.
