Very nice work Oleg, especially for 1/35th scale! One very small observation, the gun sling looks like it doesn't carry the weight of the gun. That is to say, it looks as if the gun-sling should be stretched tight to show the weight of the gun around his shoulders. Well done!

Hello Oleg:

I must echo what the other Planeteers have said. Your work is very good. I
am sure you can easily tighten up that machine gun strap. And 1:35th is so
hard to do since it is so small. I thought you did a very good job on the
eyes, as well. I really struggle with the eyes. Sometimes I have to paint
them 5 or 6 times before I get that "Deer in the Headlights" stare out of the
face.

Hope you will share some more of your work with us. And have a lot of fun
as that is the real reason we are doing this.

I also want to compliment you on your good manners, young fellow. You are
sending a reply to each of the PFers who responded to your note and photos.
That is a nice touch. I always try to do the same thing. Good luck to you,

Oleg, just keep doing what you're doing. You'll learn on every single figure.
I've noticed the the "Junior" area of competitions is less and less supported , as time goes on.
I can only think this reflects a waning interest in the art form amongst younger artists...it used to be that Junior categories had many, many entries....not that competition itself is the ultimate end-all experience for miniaturists, because it's not, but it does reflect what's going on.
Stay with it Oleg, and you will be rewarded with a fascinating learning experience like no other. Not to mention a wonderful outlet for your artistic energies...

I've got to chime in here again, . . . because I just read Two Moon forum
post, in this thread. Two Moon is right on the money.
He gets it. I agree that we do not see the juniors in competitions
around the American Heartland like we used to, and that is a shame.
