Hi guys been a while since I have posted. I’ve have now managed to get my head in the right space and came back to figure painting last week. I have a 1/16 Soviet Sniper from world war 2 that I 3d printed and decided to give oils another go today. I am looking for feedback on if I am heading in the right direction and what I need to improve on. Flesh tones where a custom mix with W&N oil paints

Hi John

Nice shadows and highs , not overstated which works well on this

Will you do weathering as well ?

Happy benchtime

PS sorted pics out ( turned them )

"he wont be in any setting sadly just on a plain base"
I think he would deserve even a small base, like the one on my Soviet Officer in Berlin, 1945.
Something simple, just to complement the character:

Hi dolf thanks for the suggestion i will see what i can come up with. great looking figure btw

Will you camouflage wrap his rifle too? He won't really look much like a sniper otherwise.

Hi Bundook. I didnt even think of that tbf and if i am going tbh i dont even know where to start with such detail to put in

"i dont even know where to start with such detail to put in"
Actually it's easy to do.
Just grab some gauze bandage (that you might have in your supply box), or kitchen paper, and wrap it around the rifle. Use some white glue to fix (and mold) it.
Then you can color it as you wish.
That's what I did for the periscope for that guy (using gauze bandage) :
