Wow, a labour of love, and outstandingly executed. Its donation to, and display at the museum is a fitting tribute to your years of dedication.
It reminds me of another diorama, in 1:35, depicting the town of Clervaux, during the battle of the bulge.
 
Totally amazing and what an epic piece built and presented to perfection and out there in the Museum where it will be on view to thousands of people for many years to come, I can remember as a child seeing museum displays of castles and battlefields etc and no doubt that's where my passion with military modelling started, but your labour of love is far beyond anything that I have ever seen and will be a source of inspiration to many, well done.

Thank you very much for your words Mr. Terry, it was a work of gratitude to the land where I live, I have been residing in it for more than 20 years. He has given me the best of life, wife, children, friends and with this work I have returned thanks with this model.
 
Was this idea loosely based on the film El Cid with the final battle scene with the Castle at the end of that long curved beach?

Not at all, this castle existed during the Muslim occupation in the city of Orihuela in the province of Alicante (Spain). The sequence of the Cid movie that you tell me wanted to reflect the walls of the city of Valencia but the movie was recorded in the city of Peñiscola in the province of Castellon (Spain):
