Hi all

While doing further work on the groundwork of my former project I started painting the face of Romeo Models 75mm 17th century Spanish noble.

Still early days but nevertheless already an impression of the final outcome. Additional work will amongst others involve refinement of the eye, cheek, mouth and nose area.

Thanks up front for all suggestions and comments.

Johan, I like your fleshtones(y) but they are a little dark for my taste. I know is not finished yet.
Following.

Nice Start. (y)

Only wish to know if the eyes are finished. Only see blue in the eyes but not the black dot y center or black around. I think you must try to put there a little point of black inside.

About the fleshtones you always can use some middletones :)

@ Marc, Ronny, Eduardo & Christos - Thanks for the encouraging words!

@ Pedro - Many thanks for taking the time to comment. I know that overal the shading has been done rather dark, but considering the angle of the figure's head this was done on purpose. The large hat combined with the head turned to the lower left corner should cast a heavy shade over the face keeping in mind a zenithal light fall. I am planning to do some extra highlighting on the left brow and top of the left cheek area, so the contrast might yet even end more pronounced than it is already. I am fully aware that this is a matter of taste, however.

@ Rafael - First of all my gratitude for your input also. Valid point about the eyes. The pupils still have to be done indeed, only leaving a demi-circle of the blue colour around it. Hope to manage to pull this off...
Then the middletones of the flesh. Good remark too though these have been washed out a bit during the photografical process. I hope that the midtones will be more obvious after the adding of the extra highlights.
On a sidenote: odd to see the resemblance between your avatar and this figure.
