Question for Andy Meyers

Andy,

Are you by chance the same Andrew Meyers who did this 1/32 F-14 Tomcat, figures, and tow tractor dio years ago?

Pete Brown

WOW, Yes it is..
Where did you get that photo...I did that model when I around 20 years old..
believe it or not I still have that Dio. It's boxed up...

Thanks Pete

Funny that you mention the Tow Tractor....I am coming out with one in about a week in 1/32 scale. Just waiting for the Decals to come in.
I am working on a hole line of 1/32 scale Carrier Tractors, even the Fire Tractor.

Andy

Andy...

I have admired that F-14 model/diorama of yours since I first saw it in FSM, I think it was back in 1992 or so. I was just getting into the hobby then and I thought that was about the coolest thing I had seen!

I was always impressed with the way you converted and posed the figures, especially the pilot climbing into the aircraft. And building the tractor from scratch...I was simply in awe of such talent!

I am currently working on converting the 1/32 Tamiya to an F-14D, and I dug out the FSM magazine Gallery photo for reference. I converted a pilot figure to a similar pose as yours.

Packed up? That should on display in a USN museum somewhere, like down there in your neck of the woods at NAS Pensacola!

That is great news that you are going to do 1/32 USN carrier tractor series, etc.
I would like to know more details and see some pics.

I'm sure the tractor is spectacular!

You might want to drop some information over at the aircraft forums like ACR and Hyperscale.

I know a lot of other folks would be interested in what you are doing as well. Or I could drop a line there too if you want.

I also remember seeing a M1 Abrams tank in FSM you did that was equally impressive.

Your Special Ops work is fantastic.
Looks like you're doing quite well for yourself.

Glad to have touched base with you.
As I said, you were one of my earliest influences in this hobby.

Please keep me informed!

Thanks,

Pete Brown

Hi Andy, You and Alan have combined for another great figure! Look forward to seeing it painted.

Very Nice bust, but would have preferred the M4 to have had a Crane Stock and have RIS/RAS rails on it with an OTAL or the new PEQ laser designator system, but it's one for the collection for sure , very well sculpted

Thanks Pete, Nick, Argyll and Jay for the kind remarks..
Pete, I will keep you updated on the 1/32 Carrier Tow Tractor...Hoping to get the Decals this week so I can finish the model for the box art. and hoping to paint this bust soon too.
Bin real busy working on some big jobs at my shop. One of the projects I am working on is building Mining Machine models for a client that builds the real machines.
Have to build over 100 finished models for them.
In between that I am working on some other new kits.

Cheers,

Andy

Is it just me or is Argyll speaking in a foreign tongue? :D
I agree it is a very well crafted piece and the extras i.e. brass flash eliminator, decals lead foil....just great.

Thanks Gellso and Carl,
I try to go the extra mile with the extra goodies to my kits.
It gives the modeler more options to personalize the model.

Cheers,

Andy
:D

If anyone is going to the "IPMS Space coast Model Contest" in Cocoa Beach Florida this weekend,
I will be there with a bunch of the Navy Seal Bust kits for sale.

Cheers,

Andy

Andy, saw this bust this weekend at the Space Coast show. Great piece of work. The photos here on the forum, though nice, don't do this justice. All of your pieces were looking good this weekend. Glad you're in the area and I hope to see more of you in the future.
