"search" function doesn't so i must ask:

what type of spray booth do we like for airbrushing?

if you made one, please share how & what components.

thanks

I use this type, HS-E550BLK, it has two adjustable switches for led lights and the airflow two motors. I like it, it is powerful and can be used like lightbox for photos also 🙂

I made one from a clear storage tub with a hinged lid. Used an inexpensive ceiling vent fan (for a bathroom) for the exhaust, sealed with clear silicone caulk. I also sandwich charcoal filter material on the inlet side of the fan. Use clamp on work lights for lighting.

I spritz only acrylics, so not concerned about fire hazards with the fan motor.

Low costs, simple, yet effective.

while i appreciate your suggestion and applaud your innovation, i just don't have it in me to start another ancillary project. i know, "but it's only a couple of hours ..." and i did look into making something as well as purchasing a kit for same. there would be no financial savings and the materials would come to or possibly exceed an off the rack package deal such as mentioned above (above).

since there's always a story behind the story, i've spent since last july cleaning out both unheated garage & heated hobby room. kits from 30 years ago that i'll get around to building went to the bin. art supplies donated to the local library. tools from 50+ years in the construction business got given away.

i just want a little space to build a modular train layout and a few cars/ trucks to go with it. my clock is ticking . . .

ok. simple and fast. save 100$+,and mamma saying "that stinks!!"

2)bathroom fan $15

..optional is a dryer vent.

How to:
trace fan outline on bottom of tote. cut out. be careful very brittle(this is what silicone is for). place fan in hole and silicone around....be generous.let dry.place furnace filter in front of fan(inside tote)attach dryer hose to back of fan. run to window and presto!!if you have a door like I do. I used the dryer vent.either way, vents it outside.
alright. what else you need.someone with electrical. need to hard wire plug to fan. a few hose clamps.

here are a few pictures of mine. hope it
helps, if not, check youtube.
this thing works, and now that winter is coming....even better!
Questions....ask.
