Took some needed time off from managing the electrical grid and went to the high country in Colorado.

Oh fantastic!
I visited the Rockies to ski (30 years ago) and have ached to return ever since.
What a beautiful place. Looks like you had a good time. And a good meal?

Hope you had a good time buddy - I will start off tomorrow for a 100 km (about 62 miles) hike - weather is still rainy and chilly but my bedroll and I can do it:happy:. Maybe I post some pics afterwards.
Please do!
Whereabouts are you hiking?

Here is the plan - I intend to cover it in two days and will spend the night at the Minneburg Castle - so on Friday late evening I shall be back... it`s the region of Germany where I grew up - lot`s of wooded mountanious terrain, history and old castles along the Neckar river...

Just to illustrate the mountain lion problem going on in Colorado. They are everywhere, I heard one while fishing. It was a bit unnerving.

In the over-crowded UK our large mammal predators are minimal. The wolves and bears long-extinct. So from an outsider's perspective this looks like a privilege.
The wild areas fill me with joy, whilst appreciating that human settlement doesn't always fit well alongside them.
