Hi to all.

Painting the scarf of this young Waffen-SS machine gunner from Young Miniatures , how I did it my way.

The bust is WIP, nothing on the photos is yet finished.

The smock with the blurred edge pattern is almost finished. It will still get some shading when the rest of the bust is painted.

The blue color is Caspian Blue from ScaleColor

A mixture of yellow and golden brown

this is the most difficult part for me, painting thin lines free hand. I am not really satisfied so far.

That's how I came this far.
Next weekend I will continue

Any comments welcome

No kidding! The scarf turned out great, just like the real one.
Here and there, just make narrower red stripes on the front and give them one more filter to fade them a little.

This is the advantage of freehand, no one will measure your work with a ruler.

Great paintjob, my man!

Hi again.

I was working on some stripes, made them a bit thinner here and there and used two filters. Looks better now

In my first enthusiastic attempt on the helmet cover, I made a big mistake

This helmet cover is the autumn side, not the spring/summer camouflage.
The stripes of fabric that cover the springs for the suspension hooks were always sewn on the autumn side.

The box art, although of course a very good painting job, did it wrong too. Besides that, the cover which is shown on the box did never exist. There were no camo helmet covers ib the Blurred edge pattern.

I will give the cover an autumn pattern
