Calvin, great work. As usual...
But one point of critic. The shadows around the nose are a bit to harsh in my opinion... A bit to dark. A tone down would help I guess... But that's my personel taste I guess.

Btw: congrats with your book. I really enjoyed it... Thanks to that I got over my fear for painting camo

Hey Calvin,

Killer job as allways!

Your technique is intresting and clever... if i undertant it correctly, when you paint the figure in black (before painting the camo, for instance...) it directly determines the shadows.

Or even then you add shadows?

Seems that the black "primer", will turn into shadows depending how much you paint over this particulary black area...

I don't know if i expressed my self well, `cuse my english is not that good.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

thanks for the feedback.

Wesley, you are right about the shadows around the nose. The are much to harsh. This is when marco photography is useful for "quality control". I've since made the correction whilst painting the left hand.

Fulix, I believe that you have understood the basic principal of my technique. I always paint starting from the darkest and gradually work towards the lightest.

cheers,

Calvin

Thanks for the reply, Calvin.

The shadow that Wesley pointed out, realy looks better now.

Great work!

Cheers.

Calvin, it's great to see some new work. You have completely mastered German camouflage. I can't believe that your figures start out with a black basecoat. (y)~Gary

Hi Gary,

thanks! I call this "optimistic" painting! Always looking ahead towards the high"light".

Hello Calvin!

Looking absolutely wondeful!
I like the small (painted) wrinkles on the trousers a lot, and also the weathering.

Are you going to Torrent?

Best wishes,

Marijn

Hi guys,

thanks again.

Guy, Kenneth and Gino, glad that you liked it. Feels great to pick up a paint brush and unwind after a month of hectic work. ;)

Yes, Marijn the rumours are true. I'll be heading to Torrent again.See you in April over the giant Paella dinner!

Calvin

Calvin my good friend.......as always AWESOME sculpt and paint
