Hi Folks,
This is my second item this year, and I'm back to a bust. It's the second of the Vietnam set from MMM and is another very good likeness from Pavol (Offo). Once again I had fun trying to follow stills from the film 'Platoon'.
Paints are acrylics for the torso and bandana, while the face and hair are oils over acrylics/enamels.

And for comparison, both busts together:-

That's one scarred face, but very recognizable!
I like the subtle contrast between the different greens Andrew. I think you got the uniform colour just right as well.

Adrian, Tony, Roger,

Many thanks for looking and for all your nice comments.

Excellent, Andrew!(y)
Are you going to paint Chris Taylor as well?
Cheers
Ulf

Hi Ulf,
Many thanks for your kind comment.
I probably won't be painting a Taylor bust. When I bought the Elias and Barnes busts I was particularly impressed by the likenesses achieved in the faces. Unfortunately, I just couldn't see Charlie Sheen in the face of the third in the set. It's a pity because the overall sculpt is excellent. Maybe I'm due a visit to Specsavers.

Cheers,
Andrew

I think what is wrong with the Taylor bust is the jaw is too square I was going to alter mine but did,nt want to spoil it but I may do it yet
George

I think you're right George about the square jaw. For comparison:-

and the man himself:-

I'll let you decide for yourselves, but I think I'll pass on both as Taylor.
However, as a generic US soldier in Vietnam, the MMM bust would be my choice.

Cheers,
Andrew
