Many of you will have noticed the little spat going on in Market thread Laser Cut Paint Rack.
Have to say it's handbags stuff with the potential of becoming entertaining for us all......now I'm not averse to a bit of a wind up but I'll resist and make the following observation.
Both the protagonists are commercial concerns and the products they offer are of more than a little interest to the community.
The planet provides a free vehicle for advertising services and at very least there should be a prefix option indicating a commercial advert for an item being produced in quantity and offered for sale.
(not for figures which are the bedrock of our hobby)
The other requirement should be that anyone posting a commercial thread should have paid to become a supporter. Yes John was a wee bit cheeky but at least he supports the site and lets be honest they appear to be on opposite sides of the Atlantic and postage being what it is I don't think they'll be having much in the way of competition.

I don't really see the difference between someone offering figures or other items of value to the modelling fraternity, be it stands, brushes, paint, glue. etc. etc. One doesn't function without the other.

Handbags before bedtime, Del. Had to throw in my twopence worth just to stir the pot a little

Bit worried about Steve, supporting a chap with a beard, apart from the Taliban who else would he support!

Glad to hear it Ron, I kind of thought that from his posts!

Are you going to Dreghorn tomorrow mate?

Fair point Keith but a lot of the Figure announcements are third party. As I stated it would be good if manufacturers / suppliers became supporters to punt goods.
The world of the modelling fraternity / maternity would be a much poorer without pF and £15 a year provides access to 365 days a year advertising to a captive and eager customer base.

Ron Dreghorn (Ayrshire) barracks closed many many years ago, not like the modern one in Edinburgh.
I was talking about a certain funeral tomorrow but do understand if you are working.

Sorry Don
Biga mistake I thought you were talking about some do up by Edinburgh .
We have a delivery of special stone arriving from Cumbria tomorrow and it requires a two man hand ball off the truck as it is mega expensive and there is only me and my Brother to do this .
sorry for the Faux pas

Nice as all these racks are and I speak for both parties it reminds me off the fly tying fraternity ,they have racks for racks for racks :playful:
When I look around my bench there are all possibilities for many different potion holders but a very logical one would be something to hold the turpentine bottle .
Thought! about cutting a hole and fitting it in like an old school inkwell

Do I dare do this to my brand new desk :nailbiting:

Well said Del I have to back Jon cos he has a beard in any case :angelic:

Steve

Yeah!...and you really don't want to see me without one :nailbiting:

I must say I wasn't expecting this amount of fallout and I have responded in more detail in the original thread.

I don't think that Sphere would be where it is now without the feedback and support recived from forums such as this and I am extemeley grateful for that. It is a business and I think it only right that we support the forums in return; I have promised Gordy an advert but still haven't got around to sorting the artwork, apologies for that.

I am also a figure painter/modeller and find the forum very useful on a personal level and will offer help and advice in return where possible. I feel extremely fortunate to be in a position of supplying products into a hobby that I find very rewarding and dealing with a generaly decent bunch of folks, thanks for your support and I look forward to catching up with you at the forthcoming shows.
