hi!

I have not posted for a while as i have been busy with a new 75 mm project...
I started of with the teutonic knight from Pegaso 75 mm ( a rather small 75 mm more of a 70 mm)

I changed the legs in order to be more accurate with armor history (late XIII th century - no full metal plates, only leather )
I also changed the head (using Pegaso's Livonian knight)
I cut the hands off and replaced them using bear hands from an old 70mm knight which I painted (badly) about 20 years ago...

the flag will be scratched using magic sculpt

I air brushed the horse (with acrylics) in order not to have too many layers of paint, the freehand being oil painted.

of course that is only the base coat

I also painted the cape , air brushed with acrylics, and then the freehand painted with oils

Beautiful work, this is I feel going to be a showstopper.

I shall save the inevitable word Magnificent for later !

Your efforts are always worth waiting for.

I am in awe, your freehand painting is incredible! This is a comp winner for sure!
Cant wait to see the finished result. Question, what brand of oils are you using? I have been using Winton (budget brand Windsor and Newton) and they are ok, but not fantastic.....looking for something better without the mortgage! :)

Slainte,

Andy

thanks guys!
@ Andre ; it is important to use artist quality extra fine oils, as they contain more pigments, and will give you abetter coverage.
I mostly use WN, rembrant and Lefranc Bourgeois oils . Old holland is also excellent. I am sure there are others.

Couldn't agree more ! the higher the series number the the more pigment and less oil
