Steam punk ?

Probably going to show my age here....but need to know.....WTF,is a Steam Punk?....Don't get me wrong;I've heard the term before giving name to a particular piece.But where did that name come from ?...?....Maybe just another name for reality turned to fantasy.
Like some of those pieces;..what tripped my trigger though was the recently posted "Ahab".
Read the book and sculpted the piece albeit on a much larger scale.I guess I need to gear myself to the younger generation....................No can do..............Wayne

You took the words right out of my mouth. The paragraph on the origin of the term seems pretty accurate.

It's interesting to note that it started in literature and then spread to other media.

Another way to describe it could be that it's an excuse for hot chicks to dress up in corsets and other lingerie and post photos of themselves. Rowr.
