the arm badge is definitely Leading Stoker, prop with a star above it!

Not necessarily, the stars denote professional qualification, only a foul anchor on the opposite sleeve would identify him as a Leading Stoker.

Aah - see, Im just guessing as I know nowt about the Navy! its defo one of these badges on his right arm - cant see his left!
