I have to ask how did you find the female face to paint . Because when it was first shown on New Releases a lot of the comments thought she look a bit Manly (ugly) .
I like the whole presentation of this piece from the snow base , the dark chestnut of the horse to the colours of the two figures . Well done sir .

You're right the female face is a bit rough.....

The solution is to smooth your paint. And be gentle with contrasts...

I comeback from a french show.
The sculptor (Philippe Gengembre) and another great painter (Guy Biberan) told me that I did very well with the female face, very smooth.
