Just thought I would let you all know that Forum member John Belcher has not only won Best Figure in Show BUT Best in Show at New Zealands premier modelling show the IPMS (NZ) Nationals at Christchurch over the last weekend.

His 54mm figure Mongolian Archer ( as seen in his V Bench ) swept all before it. John also won at least 5 golds to take the top prize.

It was a very popular win for this very modest man as he is not only a top modeller but also an unflinching ambassador for the figure hobby with many displays and workshops over the years showing others how he works his magic.

Congratulations, John. You deserve your win.

John, congratulations my friend on your awards, From seeing your work on your work bench , I know they are well desrved.

Lindsay, thank you for bringing to our attention.

Cheers
Roc. :)

Congrats John. Outstanding work well rewarded and well deserved! (y) (y) Like Joe said though, start clearing off some walls. I see more in your future..............

Yes. I think he will need to start on another cabinate soon. John has won BiS here and in Australia quite a few times. I would love to see him go to one of the big USA or European shows. I remember I went to Euro Militaire in '93 and learnt more in 2 days than I could in a life time.

Well done & congratulations John...it's always a pleasure to see your creations.

Lindsay, can you tell us how the old Maori warrior fared....did John manage to get him completed..?...it was shaping up to be a beautiful piece.

All the best..Roy.

Welldone and Welldeserved John  .........

As Phil noted, to beat all opposition in a show with other disciplines featuring so well, it is no mean feat ( Phil and me can vouch for that as we've met a couple of times at the U.K. Nationals organised by I.P.M.S U.K. and know first hand what the other disciplines "offer" ;) )

Keep it up mate.......

Ray :)

Hi old son,
this is good stuff man ,so pleased for you. guys you've got to see Johns work in the flesh, photos just dont do his work justice,..be it that his photos are brilliant as well..
