Hi all!

Here is the next Kings German Legion figure from Stuart. ( sorry Carl :) )

Sculpted by Maurice Corry this is a cracking figure ( I seem to be getting a taste for Napoleonic subjects ) :)

So here are the parts straight from the package ....

Clean up was as always with Stuarts stuff a doddle and was done in a couple of hours..

I sprayed the parts with a cheap automotive grey primer and did a dry assembly....

And this is my progress after a few hours painting, still a long way to go but I like how it is looking.

Feel free to comment, crit or correct as I'm pretty clueless about this era ( though Stu did lend me Ospreys 2 volume set on the KGL, very nice! )

Due to the current obsession with abbreviations, and my lack of knowledge of all things Napoleonic. I haven't a clue what KGL is. But other than that, a great start Mark.
Carl.

Ron ... Cheers :)

Sharpie ... Thanks :) The cords are based with Black, next Games workshop Catachan Green and a highlight with Vallejo German Camo Bright Green! I think a bit more work with the highlight will be needed to pick them out more :)

Steve .. Thanks :)

Carl ... Kings German Legion , sorry mate :) and thanks :)

:)

WTF ?! :)

OMG, u don't know the KGL ? They were Germans from Hanover, they had their barracks in Bexhill-on-Sea, and they heroically defended La Haye Sainte.

;)

Looking good so far mate ! As always the skin tones are spot on , i know nothing about this period of history so i will just enjoy your painting skills !
Thanks sam b

It's wonderful progress, Mark.
It's already an amazing work.
I'm looking forward to completion of your work as a fan.

Mitsutaka.

Johan ... Many thanks :)

Brian ... Cheers :)

Carl :) I never understood any of yours except TTFN ;)

Grant ... Thanks :) Yes I tried oils when I returned to figures a few years ago, prefer the look and technique of acrylics. Not saying I will never use em again but it seems unlikely :)

Sam ... Many thanks :)

Ken! ... Thanks :)

Mitsutaka .... Many thanks my friend, both doing Maurice Corry pieces I see ;)

Head 99% finished!
...

Actually it is probably 100% finished but I like to keep me options open ...
nothing special about the finishing except to say I'm using much thinner glazes of Klear to get the leather and skin to sheen. This is mainly due to my newer method of shooting pictures as previously I was getting too much bounce back from the gloss.

Tunic and upper body next!

:)
