Hi Guys
Day off to day so managed to get some work done ,not the best pics ,need to rig a light box , have nearly complete the face although with the help of Jimbo it was decided to cut the peak off ,as it was like a gynaecologist trying to decorate his hall way through his letter box just to much of an angle for me lol.
Have re attached it so will file and paint tomorrow hopefully .
I need more work on the face but it turned out reasonably well, given first coat to the the hat badge and chin straps little bit more weathering done but hard to pick up on the pics started on the hands need to make them look a bit colder and dirty, going to attempt some damage to Shako perhaps a tear and a bull it hole see how it goes ,more work on cross belts ,and stains and shadows on the Afgan jerkin
Cheers Chris

Hi Mr Edwards,

Having seen this yesterday .....(inbetween the constant sound of you muching all the choccy biccies;)).......

as we mentioned yetserday a challenging bust to do as well , all the different materials and the weather effects to achieve (cold etc on the face ...this looks good on yours )

Glad you put some washes on the coat just to take that colour back a bit .

Look forward to seeing how you do the musket as well

Thanks for sharing

Nap

PS No probs on the base (good drilling Jimbo:rolleyes:) ..mine's a coffee

Hi all
Managed a bit more before going on holiday , did some work on Musket quite happy with it so far but want more dark around the stock and forgrip need to put a few knocks and dinks in it . And do the metal effect .
Did some wear and tear on Shako bullet hole and a tear at the top thought I better put a exit hole at the back .
Little more on afgan coat the lighting makes him look like he is not to cold got to sort the lighting out next time ,or even use my other camera and not my i phone
All feed back appreciated
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris ,

Nice start on the musket really coming together now ...like the idea of the shako but I wouldn't go too mad IMO (bullet holes look ok but not sure about the chunks out of it) ....line in the patterns on the coat as we talked about yesterday in burnt umber/black washes for more definition.

Have a good holiday ...

More when you get back please

Nap

Hi Kev
Thanks for the feed back mate yea going to do some more washes put some dark in the lines but the pic does not show them ,Iand more washes of burnt/black umber, i thought long and hard about the damage , however i am bugger for thinking like a soldier considering environment , wear and tear and I often feel compelled to make things look like they have been part of the every day life of an infantry man on campaign aim just strange lol
Cheers Chris

Brilliant work so far chris,I will definatly have to get one of these, should have got one at euro ,cant wait to see it completed mate (y)

Hi guys need a bit of help not sure which musket was used by the 44th at Gandamack so hard to look up ,I have posted a couple of pics of what I am doing with the strap the first part is resin then when it goes into the left hand and comes out that part is is to be made out of thin metal which is provided .
If anyone has a ref pic of this weapon showing swivel Detal etce that would be great or a link . I have done some work on wood effect toned it down quite pleased with the effect and texture all though an important bit of kit they lived a rough life sort of got the colors from my old hunting shotgun where the wood was dinked scratched stained
(Trying out new free app called Texit which enables me to write on pic ) man I am such a techno ......not man I can't even work out the Sky controller lol .
Any info would be suuuuuuupppper
Cheers Chris

Cheers Swralph

Have been Internet surfing and I am more confused , on the Stormtropper box it has the swivel up at the end of the barrel on pic on sites it has it half way down ?

Cheers A confused Taff
Quote from Zulu " now be quite there's a good chap ...we wouldn't want to upset the lads now would we "

Hi Taff have been having a surf myself and do believe the attachment for the sling is just in front of the trigger guard.Again have seen pics where the sling is halfway and all the way up the stock of the musket,I suppose either is correct but personally Iwould go for the end of the stock. But that is just an opinion not fact.

Hi mate
Cheers mate for the feed back I have managed to find some images which suggest the front swivel being half way down the fluted ram rod guide , looked at Bill Horans diorama and pretty well most are where I have discribed looking at Ernestos painting of this figure at it appears to have the swivel in between the bottom of the barrel Anne end of the ram rod ?
As you say going for the above ram rod guide personally
Cheers Chris
