I used super sculpey recently for sculpting a head for a 65mm figure.
What would you mix it with to have a better view of what you are doing because it's a little bit "transparent" and it's hard to see the detail of the surface without a coat of paint...
Thanks.

Hi Jean-Philippe

I know many people who mix it with a small amount of Sculpey III, which is like Fimo. Comes in lots of colours; Gary on here mixes with 'Sweet Potato', I gave some olive green to Bob parker and the resultant colour is similar to Kneadatite.

The only medium that I use is sculpeyand what I have found that works best for me is 1/3 black sculpeyIII and 1/3 sculpeyIII to one box of super sculpey. Roll the clay out on a sheet of typing paper and cover with a second. Apply a weight to the the top to act as a perss and let set for an hour or two. The plasticeser will leach from the clay and firm it up. Do this untill you get the desired consistancey you want.

Thank you for your replies. I will have to find sculpey III wich won't be easy here in france. Maybe I can mix my super sculpey with fimo ?
I switched from fimo to super sculpey because I think that fimo isn't hard enough to be sanded after baking.Bye

Jean-Philippe,
I've heard of sculptors mixing Super Sculpey with FIMO and obtaining great results. Sounds like that's the way to go for you. Just pick a contrasting color that you find comfortable to work with and you're ready to go. Also, remember to "keep it simple," so as to have more time sculpting than mixing clays.

Hope this helps,
