Hmm. very strange.
The master looked quite similar to reference, casted copy looks more or less similar, bit painting somehow made him look like wasp bitten bloke and almost no resemblence. Its like with each step it went through it lost something of likeness:(

PS There were other - photographic - references I remember, the casted copy looks quite similar actually if we arent comparing to drawing, but still...

The artist very much tried, but to transfer portrait similarity at him it didn't turn out, to my regret. The casting copy is pleasant to me

Hi all! :)

The sculpt does look like Stadler, and especially in the shot that Fex uploaded!

I'm afraid my painting and then the way I lit it for the box art have reduced the
likeness, this shot was taken at the same time but I felt that the shadows were
too heavy. Oh dear :(

Anyway I really enjoyed painting this piece even if he looks a bit waspish LOL!

Cheers

:)

I only wish my painting was this bad, the one photo is a bit off but my pics are worse than my painting  Not my thing but Fex's usual fine sculpting and I think a damn good paint job by Mark

Steve

It can't entirely be the painting Marc. It looks to me like the cheeks should be a little bit more hollow and the modeller can adjust that himself. Your response to constructive criticism is very classy by the way.

There is no getting away that it is some lovely sculpting and painting :), really nice to see and I like very much, congrats to Stu, Andrey and Mark,

The cheeks look a bit heavier in the sculpt but saying that its a ;ove;y sculpt and wonderful painting for the boxart.
Great work all round.
Never having seen the real Stadler myself, I think Mark and Fex have done a superb job from the original photo I have seen.

You are being very rough on yourself Mark, lovely and please replace sad with a smile, you bloody deserve it as said above :)
You are a gent Sir

Many thanks for all the comments.

The sculpt is perfectly rendered in resin and all I can say is its a great resemblence
