Now finished! Took a while over this one and not a period or figure I have ever painted before.
Back to the British Army 1800-15.
The red circle is the highlight a snake that I added, It was a coral snake until pointed out they live in the southern states, so it is now a Timber rattle snake.
Hope you like it (the figure, not the snake).

Lovely painting and base work there, Bob (y) I really like the snake!
I've had a similar encounter with a Tiger snake down here, so speaking from experience I hope this Indian is wearing his brown under garments ;) :)

Thanks Nick your coment is much appreciated, as an aside this rattler has a mild temperament, and will strike if really annoyed (apparently) but I don't want to encounter one , we only have one poisonous snake in the UK and they are hardly seen.
