The Japanese officer is wonderful except for the nose. True this nose shape is a common physical attribute to certain Oriental ethnic groups such as the Cantonese in China, and further south maybe. But Japanese are actually noticeable for a rather opposite nose shape (for want of a better word, "hook" is what I mean). This "hook" nose, much more sculpturistic, is an important feature for one to tell apart say a Northen Chinese from a Southern (Cantonese) one.

This is of course just a general observation. I have seen Japanese with the nose depicted above too.
