Sickening. My bet is on Arab backing. Not Basque. Al Quaeda is written all over this, they work simultaneously. In either case, those found to be guilty of this need to be punished.

There's nothing sure at the moment but police found a tape with fragments of the Coran in arabic language and 7 detonators in a stolen car near Madrid.

My Family and i express our sympathy for all the families who have lost a loved one, my daughter and new son in law returned from their honeymoon just last week, these people must not succeed in controling our lives by restricting free movement from one place to another, someone somewhere must be able to sort the .............. out!

I too am not one for politics but what a very sad and mindless event indeed. Deepest sympathises to the families and friends affected and to Spain as a whole. Our prays go out to you all.

When I read this thread I saw the small flag icons on each reply - USA, UK, Spain, Belgium, etc. and it sunk in what a closely knit 'family' we have here on this web site and how truly 'Planet' or global we are with human compassion before anything else. Thanks Lou for starting this sad thread.

Deepest Sympathies
Franco

I would like to express my sympathy and my sincerest prayers for the innocent victims of such a horrific tragedy. As an American I know the pain and shock that our Spanish friends are feeling.

My sincerest sympathies as well, a terrible day for all your spanish people.
The crazy people who did this, have no rights on this world. By doing this they last all there rights.

I too want to echo the sentiments of all the previous thread posters;may sanity and good common sense prevail during this dark hour for all concerned. In all reality,it is 9/11 all over again, except this time another group of people is affected. My deepest sympathies to my Spanish brothers and sisters.May the good Lord be with you and comfort you in this time of need.

Franco, indeed we PF members are all just the same "kind" ... and we all have feelings, we all love the the same way, we all bleed the same way, we all weep the same way.
It's why I hate the lies of politicians and the madness of ethnic or religious fanatism.

I wonder how many of us are aware when we are going about our normal business that we are open to threats from any card carrying nutcase with a wish to harm innocent people. Last week i was at Crufts Dog Show, many thousands of dogs and owners enjoying the day,but whilst waiting for my class i noticed that for the first time the army and police display dogs were not just putting on displays but were working the crowds ALL DAY!

its a shame that even when relaxing you cant relax.

Johan,

We should talk off line.
Indeed Lou, we might do that.

But can it wait until next week or so? ... Eh... I woke up with a very bad cold and fever today :( (it's that cold rainy windy weather overhere, you know).

I wanted to post earlier on this subject aftrer seeing the news. However I held back as for those who know me the red mist can come down in front on my eyes and I do tend to go "off on one". I just can not seem to get in into my head that someone would want to do such an act, what also causes me deeper anger is that these people are supported by others who think this is a way to act. I just do not understand.
