Hi All

I am new to this web site and am trying to post a photo of my Mire Cap Teutonic Knight 65mm figure.

I managed to win a silver medal for this in Chicago but am battling to insert a photo.

Could somebody please give me input on how to do this.

Cheers

Franco,

The file you've attached doesn't seem to be a proper JPG file :(
I would suggest trying to save the picture again to ensure that the format is correct.
You also need to ensure that the picture you are posting is 50k or under (unopened file size) To do this you need to specify the compression factor/image quality when you save the file as a .JPG (This is sometimes under options in the window that appears when you save a file or it comes up automatically when you save a JPG (or GIF?)

What image software are you using? Let us know & someone will be able to help you.

Once you have the file under 50k, it's just a case of browsing for the file by clicking the "browse" button under file attachments when you post and submitting the post! (don't try to preview your post though or the file disappears!)

No probs Guy!

I knocked up a "how to" for Gary last night, explaining how to optimise JPGs using IrfanView (the freeware program that Gordy linked to a while back) but it's around 500k (Word document) so I can't post it here for unfortunately! :(

Hi,

Firstly thank you Leigh for posting my photos. The quality of my photos are sub-standard and I am working hard to take better quality pictures of my work.

Thank you Guy and Gino for your kind words.

The white on the tunic was painted in acrylics - whilst the white on his cloak was done in warmer white using oils.

The shading on the tunic was done - starting with green ochre (Vallejo) and slowly adding more black to it. I used oil black as a final shadow. When I mean adding black - a little goes a long way - use washes rather than pure paint!!

Thanks again for your kind words and any feedback is welcomed. Hope to be a regular on this great site.

Cheers
Franco
