Fantastic work. Who's the chap in the bush hat?

Jon.

Hi Jon,
On reflection and after a bit of investigating I have marked this up so far based on accounts of the battle. Painter's who have done this scene have always wanted to include the main characters and sometimes this does not reflect the timeline.
cheers
Richie

Great reference mate.
I have it in my mind that the dog was called Fred and Reynolds adopted him.
I think Moz is looking at doing Reynolds, Scammel, Bromhead & the soldier beside him. He is also going to do the Zulu hanging over the barricade whose name you have ommitted from the list. I also hope he does the dog.
Cheers
Gordon

Gordon, a brilliant idea to do dioramas sets. I saw part 1 at FW , amazing work.
What's in the future, Gettysburg perhaps ?(y)

Cheers Ken

Another cracking set Gordon. Just started on part one and the sculpting is superb again. Really captured the Victorian look. Well done Moz.
Cheers

I like the Gettysburg idea Ken. Pickets charge or similar. There are so many subjects to cover. Moz is working on Part 3 of Rorke's Drift which will fit onto the existing base before moving on to another project he has in mind. Dependant on demand he may expand the Rorke's Drift scenario. I wish I had the time and eyesight to paint these.
Good to see you at FW I hope Tom and his buddy didn't forget you!
Cheers
Gordon

Gordon, if you're going to do a diorama from Gettysburg or anything from the ACW, let me avoid the rush and give you my money now(y):)

I thought you were a sporting gentleman Gordon, at least give a Chimp a chance! What regiment:grumpy::ROFLMAO:

The dog in painted scene is a smoothed haired terrier and was left with Reynolds by Charlie Pope who preceded on to Isandlwana. The dogs name was "Pip"

Would love to see one additional figure at least........(y) (if the others are not viable)
I think De Neuville has this figure as Corporal Allen and I am sure that is Walter Dunne behind him.

Lol.
Great reference mate. I like the corporal Allen piece which like many of these would make nice little vignettes in themselves.
As the most knowledgeable Zulu chimp I know is it true that Cpl. Allen ended up running the Windsor Club in London?
Cheers

True my mate, there are so many little vignettes to be made from that one painting.
The real Cpl Allen promoted back to Sgt, a good likeness in De Neuville's painting

If you are talking about G.E. a.k.a. Cpl Allen I think it was the Winchester Club(y)
