This is a view of the mighty Delaware River that General George Washington and his badly equipped army of patriots crossed on that frigid Christmas Eve night to surprise the Hessians in Trenton.

The riverview is about 5 minutes away from my house, good place for the wife and I to relax and walk the dog.

Hi Roger,
Do you want some photos from archaeological memories of Rome? Some centuries far from Washington and his troopers...
Roc, nice place to visit...your wife and your dog seem relaxed and happy, and you?
Best wishes to you both
M

Hi Roger,
Here we have the famous column of Emperor Traiano, from which almost all figures producers had taken inspiration to sculpt roman warriors, a good source "live". And all the roman statues, reproducing armours...what is your preferred time in figures, or as general study? I like something more dressed than Romans...LOL
M

Hi Marcello, I too prefer painting figures a little more dressed than Romans:)
My preferred period is World War One but I am also interested in the early 1900's leading up to 1914 and at the moment I have become interested in the American Civil war.

Roger

Why not, Roger. Here is a "little" castle, you will find in Altena, where I live. In former times it was the place of the "Grafen von der Mark", here you found the first youth hostel in the world and today you find here a very good museum

Ulrich and Roger, you have posted some very beautiful pictures of historical sites from your country, I love them.

Marcello please post some pictures of your beautiful city.

Cheers
Roc.

Hi to all,
At the moment, before to show pictures of Rome, I wish show some images for the pleasure of Roger "Billyturnip". Here in Rome there is the Museum of "Bersaglieri", perhaps the most typical Corp of Italian Army, together with the "Alpini"(the Mountain Troops). These pics are of Bersaglieri during the WWI, and a portrait of their old uniform.
Best regards
Marcello

Hey roger !

why don't you visit our annual show in march? Lots of beer and figurines and it's in a old fortress too !!

Great Pictures Marcello. I've saved them to my uniforms folder. Museum of Bersaglieri, thats Rome on my list of places to visit then. Thanks very much and I'll take some photo's of my Bersaglieri cyclist to show you later.
Verg, one day I'll be there I was at work for this years. I visited Antwerp when I was in the Navy and had a good time.

Cheers fella's,
Roger

No Roger, because our producers are so persuaded that italian subjects are not interesting for the market, with the exception of Roman era. So, we produce napoleonics, native americans, oplites, templars, but none of italian uniforms of XVIII or XIX Century, that were wonderful. And nothing of the recent periods, only something in 1/35 scale for accompanying the tanks.
