Hi Erik

Great to see you posting this , could almost be based on a actual painting

Love the interaction between the figures , all adding to the scene

As always much care in the basework as well and fine overall presentation

A pleasure to see

Don’t forget the Diorama Competition that’s running ...see link below

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Another super story told, extended beyond the borders of the original photo Erik.
Neat to see you capturing another off duty scene of ANZACs doing what soldiers mostly do.
Thanks for continuing to share your creativity with us.

Again, thank you very much for the nice replies!!

Working from a photo has it's restrictions (if going to copy it), the trick is to look "beyond" the picture. A sort of what could be, and you can let your fantasy go but still staying in the 'historical correctness.
We have a wonderful hobby, isn't it!

The concept, the composition and the painting are all first-rate. So much to look at and enjoy here, and the pigeons, the farmyard creatures and the hay bale are all wonderful touches.

Tell us about the figures, the vehicle and the building. Are they kits, conversions or scratch-built?

Thanks guys!!

@Babelfish (Steve) and others ;-)
The figures are modified from existing ones, mostly Masterbox (civilians) and ICM (Aussies), with Hornet heads. The woman has one from Maim models. The T Ford is also from ICM, updated with some PE and resin wheels.
The building is totally scratch, rooftiles from Juweela. Everything painted with acrylics. For weathering oils and pigments came into play.
Oh, and the all the animals are from Firma49 https://www.firma49.cz/en/ as are the POW water cans! (No connection! Just a happy customer :))
Beautiful stiff they have!

Cheers
