Progression...

I think it looks ok so far... added a bit of texture to the grenade bags and the satchel..

The Khaki...

Base ..........Burnt umber
Mid .......... English Uniform
High ..........English Uniform and Stone Grey 1:1
2nd High... English Uniform and Stone Grey and Light flesh 2:2:1
Final high... High English Uniform and Stone Grey and Light flesh 1:1:2

The first three layers were sprayed on.

Probably a bit involved but I wanted to get it looking a bit washed out..

An update tomoz but found this article on our man and it includes repros of his Service and casualty forms

The man was a true hero but it is strange no mention of gallantry awards. Maybe this is a reflection on his unconventional behaviour.

Peter he seems to have lost every chance of medals due to his conduct!

Anyhoo, I have almost finished the tiny vignette inside the helmet!
There is a lovely wrist watch to paint next and then I will use some well thinned Vallejo Smoke to add some shadowing and hopefully pull it all together
