If someone else had problems to see the video, here go some image captures. At that time they painted the figures, after a mate prime, using gouache colors mixed with a flat varnish.

It works perfectly fine for me, just have to wait for the black screen to go as it downloads.

This was great to see, even though I cannot understand the commentary the film shows a lot.

I was 4 then and for mass produced these still look quite nice and I am sure started many collectors and modellers off.
Reminds me of the figures my dad would buy in the early days before he started himself, they came in clear Perspex boxes and from a proper model soldier shop in those days that you could visit.

Thanks for posting :)
Best wishes

I always liked his Napoleonic personalities....I think he was the first to do some of the lesser knowns. Compared to competitors of that time, they had an awful lot of character.

Thanks Gra30, Roger, Michel and Colin. In 1976 I was 8 years old, and a few years after, in 1983 I became to visit the workshop, to buy my kits and start painting my first metal figures. At that time the workshop was located in the same building, but in another floor, close to my home.
Today, I still paint those figures, masterfully sculpted by Fermin Galarreta. Some examples:

Ok, I´m glad you can see this way. Thank you very much, Mirofsoft, I knew Espacio Cusachs blog, made by Luis Esteban, it´s a very interesting site about, military modelling, history and art, thanks for the link. I remember the price of the kits around 1982, I got special price, 3,60€, buying them directly in the workshop.
Thanks also, for giving the link to your web with all those catalogues, much appreciated.

Hello Edorta , this is not a catalog
I painted a lot of Labayen end of the 70ies for a shop in Brussels, they came in kit, and, with each kit there was an instruction sheet . I found back, 3 days ago, some
of those sheets; I scaned them and made a PDF for all to share

Sorry Mirofsoft, I downloaded the wrong pdf. Now I have the correct archive with the painting instruction sheets. Surely you knew it, these drawings are made by Ramon Labayen, all of them were pen drawings.
Me too I kept all of those that I have painted, ( I painted some box art for the brand in the last years), the information is very complete. He uses sources like Rousselot, Knötel, Le Burgeois d´ Hambourg etc.
I´m glad you have painted professionaly those figures also, I guess the expereince was good for you.
Thank you for sharing this info.
Cheers.
