I thought the group might like to see some pictures of my earlier dioramas. This one depicts the last charge of the French cavalry at Waterloo. All figures are Historex.
After all these years, I still love Historex and have a huge collection of brand new unassembled kits waiting for inspiration!

That's a great painting, one of my favourites. Unfortunately there never was the steep cliff that is depicted on the actual battlefield. Still, ... it could make for a wonderful diorama, .....

Indeed......it was a sunken lane of course much more like your terrific diorama. But you know artists they're all drama queens...eh?

Mike

 You could be right, Mike, as I believe the artist in this case took his inspiration from Victor Hugo's description in "Les Miserables" Lovely prose, if you get a decent translation, but quite inaccurate in many respects. Still one of my favourite reads.

Alan

Mike and Alan, you are both correct.
The eye witness accounts of the battle referred to a sunken lane. Also the British troops were on the reverse side of the slope, out of sight of the French cavalry.
The cavalry would have ridden up the slope and down the far side to face the onslaught of the British artillery.

Looks very good.
I have a plastic box full of Historex that I don't use.
There is in the ambulance kit, the couch of Nappi and alot of figures. All are in original red box en unpacked plastic bags.
If somebody is really interest in it shoot me a PM

I also have a huge collection of Historex kits that I am planning to sell here on PF.
I think I have EVERY kit they made. Several of the green boxed sets of vehicles, pontoon bridge builders, newer Nemrod kits with the resin parts. The works.
Stay "tuned" for details upcoming. Or send me a PM.
