superb bit of sculpting.

i like this one alot, but think its more summer 42 at the approach to stalingrad than october in the cauldron.

most pics of the troops for october look knackered, drawn and edgey. Angriff by jason d mark ,leaping horse publishing is a superb book and reference.

Hi Guys ,

Another nice piece from Life Miniatures ...nice subject as well , be interesting to see about the lens and how these are painted , the haircut (oh how that was in my distant past!!!) again it looks like it was based on the picture posted and some others I have seen are pretty severe ...be good to see how this looks when painted as others have said.

Love the overall look of what whats there, but I HATE HATE HATE busts that give you this much torso and equipment, but only stumps for arms, and is the reason I won't buy one. Either go classical, shoulders and head, or give me an appendage or two. His right arm resting on the helmet would have been fine. Beautiful sculpting for whats there, and love the addition of glasses. Having tried my hand at sculpting WWII German hair styles, and having it end up looking like the Beatles on a bad hair day, I am impressed with the locks as well.

Oh, and perhaps to save Gellso some typing;
"Lovely stuff! Keep them Germans coming!" :ROFLMAO:

An awesome bust ! (y) love the spec'os ...

With it being a kind'a half figure it would of been nice to see the arms cut there also, or as Jason said kept to the classical bust cut. Combining the two with missing arms doesnt look right to my eyes.

The cauldron begins with operation Uranus in 19 Nov.42 by the massive attack to 3º Romanian army flank (north), after this in the 20th November the Russians attack again in the South where crushed the 4º Romanian army.
Officially the Cauldron begins in 20th of Nov. the day were the russian troops met in city of Kalach.
For me the bust is the correct title for October 42.

Pedro.

Yes pedro you are quite right.

For me I always refer to stalingrad as the cauldron , dont know why, probably because thats what the entire battle seams like to me. 2 madmen pouring everything into nothing, always seams like a battle in a goldfish bowl .
