75mm or 1/25 fail to fail to Finish
Here is my very first attempt on doing (producing) a Mini. THOR (my second is Judge Dredd) I didn't trust myself so I did get the casting Job "out of house" Couldn't be wronger. First, of course I Think Mini. I think Metal (forgive me, but I'm from the 1/6 section, so no experience at all) First Things First. What should he look like?

Ok, lets go. After some ups and down, a lot downs , here is the Man.

Yup, nice, so just to send all the tiny parts to Berlin (Germany) (my Metalcaster) and be Happy... Of course, it wasn't so easy.

The Body seems to big for Metal! The Cape impossible to cast. Of course the original Parts where always destroyed in moldmaking process. Just to keep it funny After a lot of Money burned.. there was no other solution , well for me, to keep the very small parts, and recast the "bigger" parts in Resin. Ha ! never did such small things, so again, go to a caster (Paris/France) a so called Professional They promise a lot, keep nothing, the casting took over a year, and they wheren't capable of doing the Cape. The Quality of the Body.. well some seamlines, but not to hard, anyway I had to do with it. How was the situation: I had a Mini Kit, with all Parts in Metal. Here you can see also some of the Metall parts from Dredd.(my second attempt)

and the Body in Resin, but no Cape! What could I do? Here we have a saying : Your never served as good as by yourself. So I try the Cape. and got it. Now there are Metal Parts, Blue Body, and a grey Cape.

Finally, 2 Years later, I send the God of Thunder to a Master Painter (Ivan pintor de Miniatures) , who keep him for over a year... When it Starts bad, it will go on until the End.

He was thrilled (his words) about the Quality. And painted this eccentric God! It (pics) looks marvelous (still don't have him in Hands) the Final result:

So, this was the experience of my very first Miniature Kit, a long way. Hope my bad english didn't disturb you to much, and you always understand what I was trying to say.

Thanks for all the nice comments. NO the painted Figure is not to buy/sell. I have trouble enough to get it, BTW still don't have it! Just the Pics.
I consider selling now Kits of Thor. But of course I cant make any Benefit, with this story behind. Anyway.
It cant be your fault if I had a long Money consuming learning Time. Hmmm as say, I am from the 1/6 section and make "there" everything myself. Now also on the Minis.
Of course just for those sculpts that I have in Digital. Just scale them, little change here and there... voilà, the "new" Mini.

For Starting my "Mini-Business" (I am in production of 8 different pieces actually - most never shown anywhere - except their big Brothers ;-) ) I will
offer a Mighty God of Thunder Kit, the 15th July. Free. To one , randomly choosen, from all those who made a comment here.
I actually has no glue how I will made the "Lotterie" maybe I print all the Names, and throw a Knife, Dart, or something, and the Name hit, will win?
There will be no refound, no possible Justice Tread. Hey, It's just a Mini. So Good Luck. All the Persons above are already "sign up" for the Game.
BTW I think 38 Euro, Shipping include, for Europe will be the price, how about that. Good Price Range?
Figures will be Limited on 49 pieces, no reedition, no variant, nothing. when gone, then gone.
Actually searching Boxes... Would apreciate any Help. or Hint. I'm in Luxenbourg/Europe.
For now the Figures will be send in official Postal Boxes, Tracking Number etc, but I still have not a really right Box. What do you think about it. Is it really neessary? Do you keep them in Zipbags, in a Drawer. Better in a Box? Most Boxes are 1-2 Euros, the Price will be reported on the Kitprice.
Come on Guys, some Help please .
Thanks
Heng

Thank you for your answer. (y) Good idea! The problem, if the kit is resin, a simple bag and its breakage. possibly a bubble envelope but I'm afraid it will break too. I think the price is right, 38 € seems fair to me. All you have to do is try it out!;)

BTW, I thought Box for Storage etc, not shipping. For Shipping I have Boxes, they are quite large, but I fill them with the Mini, up to 4-5 Minis and Bubble Plastic. But then you'll have Minis at home in a Zip Bag. Transportation is secured with Hard Box and Bubbles.

Needs small box..and rather than bubble wrap many good makers use shredded paper, small parts in tiny plastic bag..the whole box in a mailer. Packing is extremely important as buyers won’t return if they receive damaged pieces..

So today is the 15th.
Pfff not really a lot of comments, seems nobody is even interested to get this Mini for free.

I chabge my view/idea to choose a Member of this thread thats made a comment and can win a The Mighty God of Thunder. By only 4 Candidates... I will miss the line with the Name etc (not a well Knife thrower ). Really to few

SO, I decide to send a Kit to ALL of the 4, yes even the Down-Under Guy (will cost me my last Hairs)

Just found this thread :)

Great change of pace from what is normally here (Not that I don't really enjoy the WIP and finished threads, but it's very interesting to read about your perseverance and determination to bring this figure to life) What a fight it was (y) I fear that I would have decided long before the end that the money and effort were just not worth it, but really glad that you made it.

It also shows that having a great sculpt doesn't mean you will automatically end up with a great figure for sale and gives an insight into the production process which painters don't always see or appreciate - Thanks for posting and good luck with the next one (Hopefully this will be a bit easier!)
Cheers
Paul
