Luis Gracia Balaguer from Valencia, has sent me some pictures of his extraordinary dio, depicting the Guard's last stand at Waterloo. Dio comprises more than 80 figures from different manufacturers, Perry, Victrix, and Oniria Miniatures (the latter are the coolest of course :winky:   )
The high standard painting, awsome composition and great moody pictures put you right in the middle of the carnage.

This work earned a deserved medal at the AMT 2015 modelling show last April.

Hope you enjoy.

Amazing painting on these fine figures and amazing composition. Looks like a lejeune painting. Very inspiring to me as I was about to start a small vignette of the 9e Ligne in Russia in this scale.

As an aside, taking into account recent controversies on site, there are a host of relatively easy critiques I could make regarding accuracy and realism on this piece but why would I? It is a superb work of art and that is enough.

I love dioramas like this!!! Amazing work... so much work! Every pic revealed something new and interesting. The back drop really adds to the mood.

Like Colin said, don't worry too much about any nit picking... the diorama is beautiful, I felt like I was looking at a photo of that moment of the battle...

I look forward to more work like this

Awesome performance. What a patience and focus is needed to finish such a diorama. I love it. There so much drama and emotion in it. One of the best I've seen last years (y)

A magnificent undertaking and execution in fine detail. One of my favourite subjects, too. The mood in the photos is just so right--inspirational,thank you for this posting; Luis is to be congratulated.
