Hello friends,
I have in my hands the two figures kit "The Pacific Duel" (IM75-03) from Irbis Miniatures from Russia, a relatively new company from Alexey Lucanev. It is casted in High Quality Resin (29 pieces). Almost ready to paint. Two helmets and bareheaded for USMC soldier and three heads for the Japanese Sergeant. Take a look at the following photos for more information and personal evaluation. For orders or inquiries please visit the site: www.irbis-miniatures.com

Size: 75mm
Scale: 1/24
Scuptor: D. Shevtsov
Pieces: 29 total : 13 (USMC) and 16 (Japanese Sergeant)
Packaging: Very Strong Carton Box

You can purchase them as separate kit also if you want:
The Sergeant Of Japan Army (IM75-01)
US Marine Infantryman (IM75-02)

I hope that you find this review useful.

a little too angular for my tastes.....the bare headed Marine would not be an option for me due to the 70's haircut. The M1 Garand needs some work as well.
I like the work on the fabric folds, but the Marine's left foot is set too far back based on the break of the knee.

What 70's haircut? The campaigns were long enough that they didn't get their hair cut for up to a couple of month's, and as a former Marine who had an uncle that served on Tarawa and Okinawa looking at pictures I can say they wore their hair longer back in the 40's than we did in the 80's and 90's to start with. Go watch HBO's The Pacific. It's an accurate take based on books that talk about how not being able to get a haircut was a problem, but less of a problem than if you did and got cut doing it and having the cut almost always getting infected due to the climate.

I won't argue with the historical trifecta of "I served in the Marines, had an uncle who served in the Marines, and watched The Pacific"! And though I qualify on that front as well, I also watched Blacksheep Squadron and Hogans Heroes, which makes me an expert on 70's haircuts. I was referring to the style and sideburns, not the length. Just a personal preference that I would cover with the helmet if I were buying the fig.
