Geez
I don't know where I would go
Uhmmm yeah back to 1982 to made an other descision with the girl I worked with in the weekends and after work bringing her home. I said no on a question, I man I was so stupid, but what would be happen when I said yes? Be a good housefather with only collecting stamps?

Maybe I travel to the Vikings, see how they really lived
maybe to the sixties during the rock'n roll time, riding a cool harley and impress girls
Well, I'm really don't know, there are so much places I want to visit, but can't choose
Bert (who is still happy with his live today)

TIME TRAVEL???!!! Ok - So I'll suspend scientific disbelief and indulge like everyone else.

First I would like to have some assurance that I would come out of the experience with my skin intact, avoiding personal experiences with live ammunition and cold steel.

Second, I would want to be clothed properly, be able to speak to the denizens of the time in their language and dialects, etc., and be made to look enough like them to avoid trouble.

But after that, I'd agree about Biblical times in general being my first interest. I'd like to meet Moses and see the parting of the Red Sea. 10 commandments. Peter, Paul, and Jesus. The sermon on the mount.

After that,
* 1870 Mars-la-tour and St. Privat
* 1914 Mons and the British retreat - I'd like to see the regulars fire "five rounds rapid" and its effects on charging Prussians
* 1914 - 1915 the Chasseurs attacking German positions in the Vosges
* 1918 the Marines with Gny Sgt Dan Daly crossing the wheat fields into open country yelling "Come on you sonsabitches - do you want to live forever?"

All the best!

I for one, am not sure where I would go back to. The first place that comes to my mind is Ancient Egypt. Yup, that would be a good place to go, Sitting on a rock near Luxor and jump occasionaly from one pharaoh's reign to another to see first hand their contribution to the construction of the different temples and monuments.
WOW!!! That would be awesome...

And by the same token, bring along a case of Aspirin, bandaids, antiseptics and play doctor, cure a few people and be treated as a god...Damn, I'm getting carried away here,

Francis

I would enter the time machine, fasten my seat belt and turn the dial to 49 BC.
At the shores of the Rubicon River to see triumphant Caesar cross the river and conquer Rome, declaring himself dictator.

I would also like to be on the floor of the Roman Senate to shield Caesar and protect him from the infamously treacherous blows of Crassus, Brutus and company.
I wonder how much farther the Roman Empire with have extended, India, china ... who knows

Cheers

Roc.

Just realized in my long list of times, I forgot the F&I War and the FP War. I too would want to look and speak the part and I doubt I'd bring much from the 21st century (against the rules after all), but I might want to sneak a digi cam.

Hallo Bert,

I drive a cool Harley (Knukklehead) and believe me i didn't get the girls i want. The reason was that the Harley was more broke down then be ride. Therefore my hands and face was always covered with oil and dirt from the bike.
That was Harley Davidson in those days.
But what now is called nostalgia was then called misery.

Marc, who doesn't ride the bike any more.

I would love to go to Athens at the Golden Era of Periklis 500 B.C. Great period in the history of ancient Greece.

i would love to see the battle of ain jalut- 1260 and finally see two armies- mameluke and mongols fighting out .then see go to amderstam to see and one or more painting from some of the artists in 15th cent&16th cent.

Johan (you waffle-head  ),
I said "June 5, 1944" so I can ride along with either the All-Americans or the Screaming-Eagles. No sense in missing out on "all" of it, eh?

I think the period I would choose would be rather dull in comparison of most of the posts I've seen here. I would like to go back to the neolithic period to witness the establishment of "civilization" in the Steppes as well as the river valleys of Europe. Then I would like to be with Byrd in the Tin Goose when he flew over Antarctica. And for about ten minutes, in a very flat and open area, (say, in the area of North Dakota far from the impact site) witness the initial results of the meteor strike responsible for the KT Extinction.

Best Wishes
Steve

... As you wish. Better start running up and down Mount Currahee then, so you're prepared and have a chance to survive - you still owe me a guided tour of Tijuana, remember, Dudereeno ? Now I wouldn't want to miss out on that ! Hence, I was worried you'd get yourself into trouble ...

I agree. I'd like to go back to the Second Inter-galactic war against the Thargons......................eerrmmmm that hasn't happened yet has it? Anyway failing forward then backward travel maybe I'll settle for Eng;land prior to the Crimean War (nice uniforms and not much action-perfect!!)

England before the Crimean war ??? Hmmmmmmm..... dunno Jim... they'd ship you off to Australia ;) for the silliest reasons; those were hard times ...

Why go back?
I would go forward to see 7o9 or Captain Jean Luc Picard.
Or...
I think this would be also interesting.
Are there figurteers or not ? Do they sculpt or not?
Or is nothing impossible without a PC.
;)
