Hello friends!

I´m here again with a new miniautre sculpted for Historic Art/ Nocturna Models.
The Rape of the Sabine women is an episode in the legendary history of Rome in which the first generation of Roman men acquired wives for themselves from the neighboring Sabine families.
As a clasical world lover I enjoied very much sculpting it, I made it with milliput yellow-grey and it´s 70mm tall.

I hope you like it.

absolutely stunning piece of work.
the only comment I have - their butt cracks (I beg everyone's pardon) shouldn't they be more defined - I mean its almost a main feature from certain angle and it fails to excite

Amazing! Superb sculpting!
Were you following any particular painting or just general style?

The sword has small problem - while hilt is perfect Type 12/13 Remouchamps, the blade looks like blade of late (Ic BC or later) legionary gladius. To make it perfect, you could make it slightly narrower, and the point should be longer and narrower.

Thank you Archelaos! I agree with you the statue is not rigurously historic, nor the gladius, helmet nor the caligae. I inspired in the neoclassicism sculpture and the way those master sculptors interpret the old classical miths using more their own imagination than archeological science.
This figure was specialy based on Bernini´s "Pluto and Proserpina" and incredible example of sulpting talent.
