Chris, Great pictures for sure. These guys also deserve our thanks. How often are not only guys like these but other people (on the homefront) just plain forgotten? I wonder how many of their stories are being documented for history's sake? Sad indeed Dan.~Gary

I remember when Dragon released their M4A3 76mm in 1/72. They choosed to show a tank from the 761th Black Panthers on the boxart but portraying the tankers as white? If Im not mistaken Dragon corrected this on the next series.

Fascinating stories though when one starts to read about them.

Anyone has any links for sites about the soldiers with Japanese heritage that fought in a unit in Europe. I heard vaguley about it being the most decorated unit in WWII?

Cheers

That's true Janne. I also read that an all black squadron was the most succesful of the usaaf. So don't underestimate them.

Come to think about it I remember watching a documentary of a segreated WWI unit. Dont remember the unitnumber but they nicked themselves Harlem Hellfighters.

I remember they refused to withdraw in order to straigthen the frontline, so the front was straight except for their section which dug in a bit to the other side. :D

Found this after a quick search.

I wish I could sculpt! Wish one of you folks who can would think about the shot with what appears to be a black Frenchman (really bad on allied uniforms and helmets) with GI issue web gear and (French?) helmet and greatcoat., swapping stuff with the 3 black Troopers in the Jeep. Also like the face on the guy with the pencil moustache and ciggarett in the corner of his mouth!
Thanks for the pics,
Herb

Thanks Guys, I'm glad that you liked the images, no real secret about them, you can obtain darn near any type of image out there just by searching the NARA archives. thanks again and have a killer day. Mrosko

segregation

We didn't really have segregation in the uk, so sculpting another race is not a problem! Shame that the world doesn't feel the same!

My fave for some reason if the "colored" MP, don't know why,but when I first saw it, I said "Wow". The first pic, is inspirational, might just have to do a minor conversion
