He's very good, and the pose is very unusual. Bravo also for doing something a bit different. All the other gladiator figures on the market are mid to late first century AD but this guy dates from sometime early in the reign of Augustus.

He looks to be based on the provocatores on the relief from Rome now in the Baths of Diocletian museum. The scale armour pectoral is like the ones shown on the Porta Stabiana relief from Pompeii. I don't know if one can flip the shield over to show the front, but the shield carried by the provocatores on the Pompeii relief looks like this:
