"The Scouts"
54mm Resin
Sculpted by Alan Ball & Mike Stetzel
13 parts

I recieved this kit Saturday and decided to do a kit review to show the members what a real beauty this is.

The kit is comprised of 2 figures with an optional head for one of the soldiers. It is a scene depicting 2 soldiers descending into a ravine. These soldiers are from the 18th Century and can be painted to depict either British or French Scouts of the FIW or the AWI.

The kit comes well packed and is comprised of 13 parts and a base.

Optional head for lower Scout.

The final scene can be done in many variations with Scouts from either Army or Armies. Dry fitment was excellent and the casting was almost seam free with very little clean up needed prior to painting. An excellent kit and highly reccomended.

It's a neat kit. I especially like the way it composed. The only thing that looks odd to me are the letters on waistbox (cartridge box) on the first figure. Are the letters "GR"? There was a cypher printed in gold on the flaps of waistboxes with either GR2 or GR3, depending upon who was on the throne at the time. Below is a reproduction of the cypher based on an original.~Gary

Guy, You could move this to the Historicity section if you feel this comment is better suited to that section of the site.

Guy, I meant the comment regarding the cartridge box. Sorry, should have said. The review was where it should have been, I thought my comment would be better placed here.~Gary

I will see Alan this weekend in Atlanta and ask him about the cartridge box. Who knows maybe there is some info available only in Switzerland that we don't know about. :)))))))))
