Thoughts on flat vignette.

I have decided to add a couple of figures to the Sergeant I am painting here....

to create a vignette of Hanoverian uniforms at Minden.

The figures are based on this plate from the Blandford SYW book....

So, the question is do I recreate the illustration like this....

Or swap the positions of the Grenadier and Sergeant so they are both looking inwards, like this....

I'm inclined towards option 2 but wondered what the consensus was, of course there is an option 3, something totally different.

OIption 2 for me the last one. for what its worth. They will look nice together.
Are you attending Euro this year or or are you out boating.

Mick, Steve, thanks for your thoughts. I also think option 2 is a better composition but something in the back of my mind was saying recreate the Blandford plate.

Maybe a little late, but overall I think option 2 is better, as both figures looking inward focusses the viewer on the visual centre of the piece. If they look outward the focus is lost.
