Incredible realism on the burnt-out wrecked car. On my laptop I had enlarged the image of the black plastic sacks by the front wheel of the Escort, my girlfriend passed behind and asked "why are you looking at that rubbish?" (a question heard frequently, for example when sites about soccer, motorbikes, music, local news, history or whatever happens to be on screen, but this time she meant it literally). I pointed out the detail of the packet of Frosted Flakes at the top of the open sack, in her best Tony the Tiger voice she says "They're grrrrrreat!", and she agreed the comment applies to all the other pictures of this model. It is rare for her to be so impressed, well done indeed Erik!

Lovely work and very thought provoking little scene, what is going through the soldiers mind as he sits in the company of a little boy, chances are the soldier could only be 10 years or so older than the boy a teenager dumped onto the streets of hell or perhaps he is the father of a young boy with the fear of not seeing his loved ones again, they were bad times and the guns a silent now thank God and in Northern Ireland where the slightest thing can cause offence this little scene just speaks for itself, really nice to see someone from another part of the world coming up with this.

Hi Erik

What a pleasure to see you posting this very poignant and wonderfully detailed ...like Plastic Max I also enlarged .....WOW!

Figures are really good and tell a story but that car is so realistic

Really like the base presentation on the labels

Why not enter something in the class of your choice in FOTM , maybe also into the Vignette & Diorama comp , please take the time to consider and also do vote as well

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to the next thread

Happy benchtime

At first, I'd thought the last thumbnail image was an original period photograph that inspired the diorama... even after viewing the enlargement I had to look twice to realise it's the model placed in front of the street background... very convincing.

Thanks guys! Appreciated!!

@Nap (and others): Followed your invite for FTOM Dioramas!!

@Plastic Max: Than the picture did what it had to do!! ;-) (Always do some photoshopping to look if it 'fits' the environment. Just to check and it's fun to do!!)
